What do I expect during my first MMA class?

During your first MMA class, expect a combination of striking, grappling, and conditioning exercises. You’ll learn basic techniques, participate in drills, and receive guidance from our coaches on proper form and technique.

Wear comfortable workout attire, such as shorts or leggings and a moisture-wicking top. Bring hand wraps, gloves, and a mouthguard if you have them. We also have some loaner equipment for your first few classes.

MMA classes typically last 60 to 90 minutes, consisting of warm-ups, technique instruction, partner drills, live sparring (optional), and conditioning exercises.

The frequency of MMA training depends on individual goals, fitness level, and availability. Beginners may start with 2-3 sessions per week to allow for recovery and skill development. As you progress, you may increase training frequency of sessions for more advanced training and competition preparation.

The time it takes to learn MMA varies greatly depending on factors such as your athleticism, prior martial arts experience, consistency of training, and dedication. While basic skills can be acquired relatively quickly, becoming proficient and mastering MMA typically takes decades of dedicated training and continuous learning. It’s an ongoing journey with no set time frame for mastery.
